On The Move Challenge
In the spring of 2016, more than 1,100 Kent State University employees participated in the On the Move Challenge, a 12-week national corporate competition. This competition was like no other in that the points each employee earned moved the team (TEAM KENT STATE) one-step closer to designation as one of the Most Active Employers in the country! Kent State finished in 29th place and received recognition as one of the Top 50 Most Active Employers. In 2017, Kent State finished in 17th Place and received recognition as one of the Top 25 Most Active Employers. This year, we’re back for more. Won’t you join Team Kent State?
Beginning April 2, Kent State University will once again participate in the On the Move Challenge. This is not your typical “challenge” and comes with no 10K per day requirement, no guilt, no shame, no punishment. It does come with feedback in the moment from the weekly learn and assess curriculum. You will feel a sense of comradery and connection with your Kent State teammates. You’ll find new ways to move your body where, when and how you want. You will have weekly opportunities to “boost” your Kent State peers. You have nothing to lose and only better health to gain. So join our team and let’s move TEAM KENT STATE up that leaderboard together!
Wellness Your Way Points Eligible: Eligible employees may qualify to earn 60 (Tier 2) wellness reward points. Participant must have at least 65% of the total available points (6,461 points) by the end of the 12-week challenge to qualify.
To set skeptical minds at ease, you need not be a triathlete to feel and experience a tremendous amount of success in this competition as physical activity is one component of this initiative. With your personal coach, Sean Foy, encouraging you all the way, all you need is a commitment to move a little bit more each week, engage in the weekly health topics, and be willing to “boost” your teammates. For tracking your moves you may use a wearable device, such as a Fitbit or Garmin, that can be easily linked to the Challenge but you are NOT required to have a wearable to participate as you may manually enter any activity (i.e. swimming, walking, elliptical etc.).
Registration is extremely easy and the best way to get started is to simply go to www.onthemovechallenge.welcoa.org between March 12 and April 2, 2018 and enter company code KentStateThrives247 as you complete your profile. This challenge is open to all full and part-time Kent State University faculty and staff on all campuses.
