HIV Testing-University Health Services

The Office of Health Promotion, in cooperation with the Community AIDS Network, offers free, confidential HIV testing at the DeWeese Health Center. Testing is typically offered at least three times a semester. Participants will not have to provide a name for testing.

LGBTQ Student Center

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Student Center is dedicated to providing the students, faculty and staff at Kent State University with education, training, support and resources that cater to the gender and sexual minority community and its allies. The center is a welcoming environment to LGBTQ students and their allies. The informed staff strives to educate the campus community about sexual orientation and gender identity to ensure Kent State University remains a safe space for all students.

Safe Spacy Ally Training

Safe Space Ally Training aims to equip students, faculty and staff with the tools for creating Safe Spaces and welcoming environments for LGBTQ students on campus.

The Safe Space Ally program is a comprehensive, ongoing training offered through the Diversity Equity & Inclusion Training Lab of Kent State University, with the LGBTQ Student Center taking a lead role in providing curriculum and facilitators. The training has the overarching goal of making KSU a safer, more welcoming space for all students. Safe Space Ally Training is a 4-hour training session, which consists of an LGBTQ Vocabulary 101, as well as a panel of students identifying as LGBTQ.

Sexual & Relationship Violence Support Services-Women's Center

The Office of Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services, (SRVSS - pronounced, "serves"), at Kent State University, was established to educate students about personal safety and violence prevention, to empower them to build healthier relationships, and to be responsive to students in need.

The SRVSS office offers resources and education for:

  • Sexual Assault and Rape
  • Relationship Violence
  • Stalking
