We’re making our way into the final quarter of the fiscal year, which means it’s Performance Evaluation season. Self-evaluations and performance evaluations for classified and unclassified employees will be open from Apr. 1 through Jun. 14, 2024. Continual dialogue between an employee and their supervisor is a critical element in successful performance management and the annual performance evaluation is an opportunity for this dialogue to be impactful.

  • In honor of Earth Month at Kent State and sustainable practices, Employee Wellness is hosting a used clothing drive April 22-26. Catch us at Earth Fest on Apr. 22 to drop off clean, gently-worn clothing, or drop off your donations in the marked bins which will be located at Heer Hall, Kent Student Center or the Library. Donations will be distributed to local organizations.

  • What are the research implications of comics and graphic novels? Are comics scholarship? How can they be incorporated into the curriculum? We’re excited to explore our new exhibition, "Graphic Content," with Kent State faculty, and hope you will join us Friday, Apr. 26 at 2 p.m. for a tour and discussion with Vera Camden, Emerita Professor of English at Kent State and Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University, and Valentino L. Zullo, Anisfield-Wolf Postdoctoral Fellow in English and the Public Humanities at Ursuline College.

  • Kent, OH – The nationally and internationally ranked Kent State University School of Fashion is thrilled to announce their acclaimed Annual Fashion Show will take place April 25-27, 2024 in the Kent Student Center Ballroom on the Kent Campus. 

  • In celebration of April 2024 National Poetry Month, Kent State University Geauga will host retired nurse, poet, and essayist Jeanne Bryner, who will read from her work and conduct a workshop on healing through writing. Bryner is the author of several books, including "Breathless," a Wick Poetry Center Chapbook (1995) and "Tenderly Lift Me: Nurses Honored, Celebrated, and Remembered" (2004), both published by Kent State University Press. The public event will take place on Apr. 18 from 12:15 – 1 p.m. 

  • In collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), employee wellness partner UH Portage Medical Center will host a one-day opportunity to dispose of expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and over-the-counter medications for destruction. This drive-up/drop-off program is anonymous and all medications will be destroyed. The Take Back event will be held Saturday, Apr. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
