Preventive Care

Preventive care is one of the most important steps you can take to manage your health. Services like screenings, annual check-ups, and immunizations are key to keeping people of all ages healthy.

Many of the top risk factors leading to illness and premature death are preventable. Preventive care could significantly increase your lifespan, either by catching diseases before they become too serious, which will drastically reduce the cost of treatment and improve prognosis, or by informing you of areas to be mindful of, which can help prevent future diseases altogether.

Taking an active role in your own preventive care can mean fewer trips to healthcare facilities to treat problems associated with preventable risk factors, leading to a higher quality of life and more money in your pocket. But for a variety of reasons, many people don’t receive the preventive care they need, one being a lack of awareness about recommended preventive services.

Join Employee Wellness this month to learn about preventive care via webinars on topics ranging from being a smart patient to recommended immunizations across the lifespan. You might even consider working with a health coach to create your preventive care plan (onsite health coaching is back!). Explore August offerings below, and don’t forget to sign up for Mindful Monday on August 2.

Financial Wellness: Money Matters – Finding Common Ground in a Relationship

Money matters, indeed, and the subject of finances can be a concern and place unnecessary strain on many relationships. This evening session is designed so that both the employee and their spouse/partner may participate together. Session facilitators, DJ Enga and Megan Cooper, will assist attendees to identify financial triggers that can impede a relationship from moving forward. We will work to determine our ‘money personalities’ and discuss methods that partners can use to help find common ground while budgeting finances.
