New Student Reception
Students who were admitted to programs in the School of Library and Information Science for spring, summer and fall 2016 are invited to a coffee-and-donuts reception on Tuesday, Aug. 23, between 8:45 and 9:45 a.m to meet some of the School's faculty and other new students. This is a free, casual reception for all new SLIS students (M.L.I.S., M.S. and Ph.D.).
If you plan to come to the reception, please register so we have an accurate count for food: NewSLISstudentReception.
The School is located on the third floor of the University Library (tallest building on campus), adjacent to the Student Center. Just take the elevator to the third floor and turn right; you’ll see the reception area just ahead through the double glass doors.
Free parking is available for students in the lot across Summit Street next to Michael Schwartz Center (C Campus Center Lot).
If you are unable to attend the reception but would like to schedule a visit to the School at another time, please contact us at 330-672-2782 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The SLIS reception is scheduled just prior to the start of the University's Graduate Student Orientation (at 10 a.m. on Aug. 23). Whether you are attending the GSO or not, you are welcome to attend the SLIS reception.
* Note: This reception for new students takes place at the School’s Kent Campus location. As you may know, we also have a location in Columbus at the State Library of Ohio. If you’re in central Ohio and want to schedule a visit to that location, please call 614-291-1001.
