Academic Library Association of Ohio Diversity Scholarship Award
ALAO values diversity in its membership, in the profession, and in future library professionals. For that reason, we offer a $1,500 scholarship to a promising student enrolled in an ALA-accredited MLIS program who exemplifies the qualities needed to ensure a diverse library workforce. A qualified candidate will demonstrate diversity in one or more ways, including, but not limited to: race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, life experience, physical ability. 

Actuarial Diversity Scholarship
This scholarship award recognizes and encourages the academic achievements of full-time undergraduate minority students pursuing a degree that may lead to a career in the actuarial profession.

AIGA Scholarship
AIGA Worldstudio scholarships benefit students with demonstrated financial need who are studying photography, illustration, and design disciplines in colleges and universities in the United States. Though not a requirement, minority status is a significant factor considered in jury decisions. AIGA considers race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability and disability, age, and other factors that shape creative perspective and professional experience when reviewing minority status.

Albert W. Dent Graduate Student Scholarship
Sponsored by the American College of Healthcare Executives, this scholarship is for minority students in the final year of a full-time health care management graduate program.

American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Express Scripts Scholarship
Scholarships are provided to enrolled dual-degree pharmacy students. Additional consideration is given to students of low socioeconomic status and underrepresented minorities.

American Bus Association Diversity Award
This scholarship is intended to help encourage more minorities to enter the management and operation ranks of the transportation, travel, and tourism industry.

American Chemical Society Scholars Program
Renewable scholarships are available for underrepresented minority students who are majoring in undergraduate chemistry-related disciplines and who intend to pursue careers in chemistry-related fields.

American Institute of CPAs Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students
This award is for outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and a profession.

American Library Association Spectrum Scholarship
Spectrum specifically addresses the underrepresentation of librarians of color within the current workforce. Applicant must be American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander. The iSchool at Kent State will make an additional financial contribution to the students who are awarded this scholarship.

Brown and Caldwell Minority Scholarship
This scholarship is for students majoring in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering, or one of the environmental sciences.

CGS Bernard Harris Scholarship Program
This program from the Council of the Great City Schools was established to encourage minority students to pursue college degrees and careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute
This organization offers several fellowships and internships for Hispanic college students.

ELFI Latino or Hispanic Scholarships
The Education Loan Finance has a wide arrange of scholarships available to Latino or Hispanic students. This is a great resource especially if students do not know how to start paying for college or are not aware of the financial aid resources. 

EDUMED Hispanic or Latinx Scholarship Resources
EDUMED has a an overview of scholarship resources available to hispanic or latinx students looking to find ways to make paying for college more affordable. This link provides an overview of scholarships to look for from different community organizations or scholarships that honor those who have helped the community. 

EPP/MSI Undergraduate Scholarship Program
This scholarship provides funds for two years of undergraduate study to minority students majoring in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields that directly support the mission of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Financial Resources for Latinx Students
Credit Donkey has compiled a list of over 100 scholarships, internships, fellowships, and nonprofit resources specifically for Latinx students.

HACER Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarship
This scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to eligible Hispanic high school seniors who face financial obstacles as they prepare to attend college. 

HENACC/GMiS Scholarship
The Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Corporation (HENAAC) distributes multiple scholarships each year; some require U.S. citizenship but many do not. Applicants should be entering a STEM field at the undergraduate or graduate level, have a 3.0 GPA, have strong ties to the Hispanic community, and show leadership at the community or campus level. Scholarship winners could receive $500-$10,000.

Hispanic Scholarship Consortium
The Hispanic Scholarship Consortium seeks highly motivated student leaders with a clear vision for their future to apply for the HSC Scholars Program. The program goes beyond traditional services and offers empowerment through scholarship, mentorship, and leadership and is open to graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students.

Hispanic Student Scholarship
This contest is for Latino students students in all majors. College students with a passion for community involvement and furthering their education are given priority.

iSchool Alumni & Friends Council Endowed Minority Scholarship
The Alumni & Friends Council scholarship is based on capacity to achieve academic and professional goals and potential for leadership on campus or in the community. Preference will be given to ethnic minority students (i.e., African American, Hispanic, Native American, and Asian American).

The Jackie Robinson Foundation
This is awarded to a graduating high school senior planning to attend an accredited four-year institution.

Lagrant Foundation Scholarships
Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible if they are a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DACA recipient. Students must be African American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, or Native American/Alaska Native. Students must major in advertising, marketing, or public relations.

Leon Bradley Scholarship
The American Association of School Personnel Administrators sponsors this scholarship to encourage more minorities to enter teaching and school leadership roles. 

NACME Engineering Scholarship
These series of scholarships from the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering offer help for engineering and computer students.

Ohio Newspaper Association Minority Scholarship
The Ohio Newspapers Foundation will award a scholarship to a minority high school senior in Ohio who plans to major in a field relevant to the newspaper industry, particularly journalism, advertising, marketing, or communications degree program at an Ohio college or university.

Petta and Ron Khouw Scholarship
This scholarship goes to an underrepresented minority MLIS student with focus in Reference Librarians or Academic Librarians-Reference Services.

School of Information iSeed Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is available to students who are veterans and/or are from underrepresented groups in their first semester of the MLIS or MS program in the School of Information at Kent State. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be admitted to the Kent State University MLIS or MS program. Applications can be made at any time, but will not be reviewed until after admission.
