Advancement/Alumni Update

Project Highlights

  • The Advancement team spent seven weeks in intensive discovery to prepare for the new Advancement Connect system within the CRM.
  • Over 500 user stories were identified as features and functionalities and reviewed to ensure a proper fit with KSU business processes.

Upcoming Project Activities

  • User stories will be evaluated and prepared for final review.
  • Scope checkpoint will be performed to prioritize and categorize all known work efforts.
  • Configuration, design, and development will begin.

Center for Corporate and Professional Development Update

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • The team has recently completed discovery sessions to determine the critical business process needs and identify areas the CRM can provide opportunities for process improvements.

UPCOMING PROJECT ACTIVITIES

  • The CCPD team will review and evaluate their business processes to identify areas to streamline with the use of new functionality within the CRM.
  • The IS team, along with Sierra-Cedar (SCI), one of our implementation partners, will develop an implementation solution design document, create user stories, and identify implementation milestones.

WKSU Update

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Information Services CRM team is working with WKSU to identify their vision and document user stories for the implementation of Salesforce for their underwriting process.

UPCOMING PROJECT ACTIVITIES

  • We will be viewing a demo of the Advancement Connect membership functionality to determine feasibility for the WKSU membership processing.
  • User stories will be evaluated & prepared for review.

Recruiting/Admissions Update

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Student team has completed several discovery sessions with our implementation partners to gain a better understanding of business needs and learn the CRM's capabilities.  In addition, the team is noting opportunities for improving processes, streamlining operations across campus departments, increasing engagement with constituents and breaking down data silos.

UPCOMING PROJECT ACTIVITIES

  • Discovery working sessions have been scheduled to delve deeper into specific functionality and teach team members how to utilize the CRM tools.  In advance of each session, the participants will have a preliminary virtual training session to become familiar with the system and features. The working sessions will include a walk through of the functionality, setting up of the system, and assigning homework to complete the setup.  Subsequent working sessions will be scheduled for each topic, as needed.

Student Retention Update

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Retention team overlaps with the Recruitment and Admissions functionality and has been a part of discovery and working sessions within the CRM.

UPCOMING PROJECT ACTIVITIES

  • The Retention team is included in upcoming working sessions to delve deeper into specific functionality and teach team members how to utilize the CRM tools.
  • Early Alerts and the Destination Kent State orientation program are being scoped.
  • Additional Student Success initiatives will be explored to determine proper fit with the CRM.
