M.L.I.S./M.S.-Health Informatics

To enhance your employment options in a wide variety of settings, consider a dual degree combining a Master of Library and Information Science and a Master of Science in Health Informatics.

Applicants must complete a separate Master of Library and Information Science application and Master of Science application. If you are currently enrolled and would like to apply for a second degree, you must do so by the end of your second semester in the program. The dual degree option allows you to apply up to a certain number of credit hours from one degree to the other, in consultation with your academic advisor.

You don't need to submit transcripts twice, however, and the same letters of recommendation may be used for both applications, with permission from the letter writers. For more information, contact the School at ischool@kent.edu or 330-672-2782.

Note: In order to be compliant with federal and state laws related to online education and consumer protection, Kent State University may not be able offer online programs to students residing in certain states. In addition, some state laws may impose limitations that could affect a program of study, including inability to offer on-ground internships. Since this compliance undergoes continuous updates, non-Ohio residents interested in pursuing any School of Information programs are advised to consult official Kent State information on state authorization before applying to this program.
