Kent State iSchool at ACRL 2017

Participants Included Two KSU Scholarship Students

The iSchool at Kent State University was well represented at the 2017 annual conference of the Association of College & Research Libraries in Baltimore, March 22-25.

Among those attending were ACRL scholarship students Denisse Solis and Alicia Krzton. Denisse received a Spectrum Scholar Travel Grant, and Alicia received a student scholarship. SLIS Associate Professor Miriam Matteson, PhD., presented on a panel titled "Charting a New Course: New Horizons in For-credit Information Literacy Instruction in the Disciplines."

Alumni at the conference included Stephanie Everett, M.L.I.S. '16, Manager, Marketing and Communications, University of Akron Library; Andrew Smith, M.L.I.S. '12, Coordinator of Instructional and Public Services Librarian/Assistant Professor at Austin College in Sherman, Texas; and Holly White, M.L.I.S. '12, Instructional Technology Librarian at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. A poster by Jessica Crossfield McIntosh, M.L.I.S. '11, Assistant Professor, Otterbein University, titled "Exploring Information Literacy Needs Abroad: Librarians and International Service Learning," was presented in her absence.
