
C. Allen Nichols
Biography
C. Allen Nichols has been an adjunct faculty member at Kent State University for over 25 years. He currently enjoys teaching LIS 60401 Leadership in Libraries and Information Centers. Nichols is a graduate of the M.L.S. program at Kent State University and received the Alumnus of the Year Award in 2005. In addition, Nichols earned his M.B.A. from Mississippi State University and his B.S. in Management from the University of Akron.
Nichols has extensive experience working in public libraries and mentoring libraries and information professionals. From 1997 to May 2013, Nichols was the director of Wadsworth Public Library in Wadsworth, Ohio. Prior to this work, he was the Regional Young Adult Services Manager at Cuyahoga County Public Library, Head of Reference and Young Adult Services at Rocky River Public Library, and a Young Adult Librarian. Nichols has provided consulting and training experiences for public library professionals and institutions throughout the United States. Currently, Nichols is the Executive Director of the Akron Bar Association and Foundation as well as Ohio Notary Services, LLC. In 2020, Nichols was named a Frank L. Simonetti Distinguished Business Alumni Award recipient by the University of Akron Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
