For three days in the week of Aug. 22, eight developers had the opportunity to take part in Apex and VisualForce training for Salesforce development.

Topics covered fell in line with the official Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I study guide. Most attendees plan on securing the Salesforce Developer 1 certification in the near future.

IS Developer Training

Disney Maxwell, David Porter, Altai Otgonyin, Becky Benya, Hakeem Mohammed, Cassa Reeder, Cindy Roberts, Thom Clark and Sameer Jaleel all took part in the training.

The three-day course was intense, covering a wealth of information, theory and hands-on exercises ranging from point-and-click (declarative) development to writing Apex and VisualForce code. Coding options are necessary when declarative development doesn’t meet a business need. Other concepts included Salesforce fundamentals, security, developing in a multitenant environment and data modeling.

The course certainly helped educate developers on how Salesforce can be successful as a development platform, thereby bringing a great user experience to Kent State University as a whole.
