Marketing Cloud - Residence Services is Live!
Residence Services went live with Marketing Cloud this fall semester to send important update emails to all students living on campus. These emails were previously sent from decade-old email software which was locally hosted on one staff member’s computer, and only accessible by that staff member. This older software really limited the options regarding what could be sent to students. Content was limited to text and hyperlinks with no design options, no tracking on whether students received and opened emails, and no information on how those students interacted with the email after opening.
Now that we’ve begun using Marketing Cloud, we’re finding that there’s so much more we’re able to accomplish with emails to our residents. Last week, we sent an email to the entire residence hall population from Safety and Security, and Dean of Students offices with information and expectations for Halloween weekend. With the advanced reporting through Marketing Cloud, we were able to verify that so far, over 80% of the students who received the email opened the message. We’re looking forward to moving more of our email campaigns to the Marketing Cloud and exploring additional features of the system over the next couple of months.
