Kent State University Independent Films wins Cindy Award

Kent State University Independent Films, a JMC student media organization, earned a Gold CINDY Award for its 2014 production of Captain Kidd's ‘Freaky Love’ music video.

Created by the Industry Film Producers Association, the Cinema in Industry awards encompass all production professionals working in media. KSUIF won in the music video category. All entries are judged using a 100 point score sheet and can win Gold, Silver, Bronze, Honorable Mentions or Special Achievement certificates.

KSUIF is a production company and student organization that allows students with a passion for film to gain real-world experience. The group works as a student-run production company, producing a verity of content including web series, short films, music videos, documentaries, TV shows and feature films. KSUIF is one of three organizations in the country that allows students to create full-length feature films.

Students involved include Buddy Canndela, Anastasia Eliopoulos, and recent graduates Tyler Pina, Matthew Petrunak, Kirsten Charlton, Devan Ofcar and Josh Quiros.
