Kent State University Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals

The purpose of the Kent State University Student Chapter of the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals will be to serve as a student organization that will aid in the persistence, professional development, and advancement of students that aspire to attain careers in the industry of aerospace at KSU. Further, to increase the participation of students of color in the profession towards the fulfillment of the greater vision of the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals, which is continued progression towards the realization of an aerospace industry in which all individuals have equal opportunities to expansive careers.

Meetings

General membership meetings shall be held twice a month, with additional meetings called by the president as needed.

Membership Requirements

Membership in KSU-OBAP shall be open to any and all students, faculty and staff at Kent State University. Active membership shall be determined by a minimum enrollment of three (3) credit hours of undergraduate or graduate coursework, and good academic standing with Kent State University.
Student officers must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.25 on a 4.0 scale, not be on academic probation or semester warning, and have passed at least six (6) or more credit hours in the preceding semester of attendance. First semester students who are not officially classified under a transfer status are not required to meet the academic or six (6) credit hours previous semester requirements. Once a student graduates, or is no longer a student at Kent State University, his/her active membership in the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals shall cease.
