This exhibition will introduce Kent State University to the paintings of Keith Gordon Wisdom, a Bahamian who resides in Northeast Ohio. Wisdom’s most recent paintings, the first he has ever done outside of The Bahamas, mark a new approach from his initial style of painting and clearly demonstrate that the impetus for this new work very clearly still arises from a Caribbean sense of color, rhythm, cultural identity and sensibility.
“My recent work demonstrates a clear structural ‘development’ in my application and use of color and rhythm in my paintings. For me this new work was produced with a greater sense of freedom of motion in that this time more of my body was involved in the application of the pigment.”-Keith Wisdom
