Darius Steward: BAC N 4th

The Kent State School of Art’s Downtown Gallery will spotlight work by Cleveland artist Darius Steward in an upcoming solo exhibition. “BAC N 4th” will run Nov. 17 - Dec. 19, with a reception Thursday, Nov. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. Both the exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

Steward’s work, which spans pencil drawings, watercolors and oil paintings, depicts characters in an urban milieu during their casual encounters and moments of solitary reflection. Steward’s work has been shown at the William Busta Gallery, Zygote Press and Cleveland Clinic, among other locations. He currently teaches at the Cleveland Institute of Art, Cleveland Museum of Art and Saint Ignatius High School. For more information on the artist, visit http://www.drs1.me/.

The Downtown Gallery is located at 141 E. Main St. in Kent, Ohio. Gallery hours are Monday - Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Thursday 9:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Friday 9:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.; and Sunday noon - 5 p.m.
