Visiting artist Nick Cave will give a lecture on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. in Cartwright Hall's University Auditorium. Seating is limited; to reserve a spot, call 330-672-2760 or email collegeofthearts@kent.edu. The event is part of the Thomas Schroth Visiting Artist Series.

An American fabric sculptor and performance artist, Nick Cave is best known for his "Soundsuits" — wearable fabric sculptures that are bright and whimsical. He is also a trained dancer, and currently serves as graduate coordinator for the fashion design program at SAIC (the School of the Art Institute of Chicago).

Cave also has an exhibition — "Encounter," consisting of three video installations — on view at the School of Art Gallery in the Art Building. "Encounter" will run through Friday., Nov. 21.
