Dr. Ibram X. Kendi will discuss the tragedies at Kent State and Jackson State in a presentation that merges the two stories into one story of students demonstrating against injustices and Americans demonstrating that student lives do matter.



Kendi is the author of The Black Campus Movement: Black Students and the Racial Reconstitution of Higher Education, 1965-1972.  Currently, he works as a visiting assistant professor of Africana Studies at Brown University and is a National Academy of Education/Spencer Post-doctoral Fellow.
