The Women's Leadership Symposium: Framing History

The Third Annual Women’s Leadership Symposium: "Framing History" features Dr. Judith Wellman, principal investigator, Historical New York Research Associates, discussing her book Brooklyn’s Promised Land, The Free Black Community of Weeksville, New York. Dr. Wellman will highlight the work of the women of Weeksville including suffrage activists, community builders, and creators of the grassroots beginnings of the Progressive movement. The conference will also include the play Harriet Tubman Visits A Therapist, and a conversation and celebration of 20 years of the Women’s Center at Kent State University.
