Kent State Gallery Seeks Artwork From War Veteran Artists

As part of a campus wide commemoration of veterans, the Kent State University Uumbaji Art Gallery is requesting artwork submissions of any subject matter and various mediums.  The work will be displayed at the gallery in honor of veteran artists. Entry forms must be submitted by Sept. 3, 2016. You can downloaded them at

The exhibit runs Oct. 31–Dec. 1, 2016.  The opening reception is Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at 5 p.m. in the Uumbaji Gallery, located at Kent State’s Oscar Ritchie Hall, room 134.  

Eligible works must be created by any veteran, from all branches of the armed services.  Artists must be able to deliver and retrieve their work during the specified dates.  No copies of published images will be accepted. The artwork must be original.  Selected artists will be notified by the selection committee in early September of their acceptance for exhibition.

The Uumbaji Art Gallery is committed to exhibiting works that speaks to a wide audience, thereby exposing our students, faculty, staff and the community to global issues that are of interest to us all. Our venue breaks barriers and encourages new dialogues.
