How will I know if I’ve earned a badge?

When Kent State University issues a badge, the badge earner will receive an email notification from the Credly platform with instructions for claiming the earned badge.

Do I have to pay a fee to get, or use, my Kent State University digital badge?

You can easily configure your privacy settings in the Credly platform. You are in complete control of which information about yourself you make public.

What prevents someone else from copying my badge and using it?

While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to verified data hosted on the Credly platform. This link makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your achievement and your associated identity.

Acclaim Badging Kent State University Digital Badges

New digital badges for an event, course, certification, conference, workshop, or training can be created and added to the Credly platform. Kent State University units, colleges, or departments interested in issuing digital badges will first need to request a Credly badge issuer user account.

Please note that digital badge images need to follow Kent State brand standards. And there may be some cost to the unit, college, or department issuing badges.
