2018 Event Details
ksoa 2018: Intersections of Mental Health and Disabilities
Students, faculty and staff with psychological disabilities shared their personal stories of identity and suggestions to promote inclusivity.
Mindfulness is a means to mitigate the stressors of daily life. The basics of mindfulness and its interaction with psychological disabilities was explored, applicable research that supports those efforts was shared, and some practical approaches to incorporating mindfulness into your life and work were discovered.
Psychological disabilities are on the rise on college campuses across the country. A panel of Kent State faculty and staff discussed current trends and offered insight into the challenges and opportunities that lie at the intersection of mental health and disability. Lunch was provided during the Keynote Panel.
