KSU ComTech Club
The purpose of the KSU ComTech Club shall be to promote amateur radio communications and electronics technology (both vintage and modern). This includes anything from vintage transceivers to the latest digital modes of radio communication and SDR radio. Other interests include vintage audio and HI-FI equipment, computing and electronic gadgets of many types.
Our goal is to set up and operate an amateur radio station at the university for club use, help its members obtain FCC amateur radio licenses if desired (not mandatory for membership). Assist in emergency communications when needed. Further the hobby of amateur radio, electronics in general and the science behind it. We foster a fun, friendly, welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
General membership meetings shall be held at least once a month, with additional meetings called by the president or faculty/staff advisor as needed. Notice of additional meetings must be given to all members in the timeliest manner possible but not less than one week. The official means of notifying members shall be agreed upon at the first meeting held after the election of a new president.
Membership in the KSU ComTech Club at Kent State University shall be open to all students, faculty, and staff at Kent State University. Active membership shall be primarily determined by the club president, or Faculty/Staff advisor for the club if needed. Once a student graduates or ceases to be a student at the University, his/her active membership in the KSU ComTech Club shall cease as an active member.
