The Dr. Daniel Mahony Award for Social Responsibility
This humanitarian award is presented annually to an individual or organization that has achieved eminence for distinctive service relating to and/or enhancing diversity. The esteemed recipient undoubtedly has enriched the quality of life and opportunity for under-represented/under-served individuals locally, regionally and/or nationally and has positively impacted the Kent State University community.

Awarded to recognize faculty members, research teams or departments that have conducted research or been involved in scholarly activity related to and/or focusing on the advancement of the quality of life for underrepresented/ underserved populations.

Student Inclusive Influence Award
Awarded annually to recognize underrepresented/underserved graduate and under-graduate students who have excelled scholastically while performing extraordinary service to the University community. Their demonstration (through leading, promoting and/or participating) in diverse initiatives has shown a consistent pattern of commitment to creating inclusive and diverse learning environments for historically under-represented/under-served populations. The graduate nominee must have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and the under-graduate nominee must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.
