All the CEO Ladies
Kent State ladies taking charge of their businesses!
What is All the CEO Ladies?
A place of support and learning for female-identified entrepreneurs, business owners, and wannabes. We build a community of supportive entrepreneurial women who come together to swap stories, tools, wisdom, and business cards. All Kent State students, faculty/staff, alumni, and surrounding Kent community people are welcome to attend!
Looking forward to Fall 2021 Meetups: Save the Dates!
Although we are excited to be able to meet in person again this Fall, we also enjoyed the ability to engage with our out-of-town friends virtually. So we decided on a hybrid model for the Fall: switching between in-person (at the Women's Center) and virtual meetings, all of which will be on Wednesdays from 5:30pm - 7pm.
To frame our Fall ACL meet-ups, we are going to use the book It's About Damn Time by Arlan Hamilton, who started Backstage Capital to focus on underrepresented founders in the startup world. Arlan, a self-identified Black Queer woman, went from being essentially homeless to founding a multi-million-dollar venture capital company; her story is inspiring and powerful.
LaunchNET and the KSU Women's Center are giving away free copies to the first students to sign up, but you don't need to read the book to participate in the meetings.
We will be looking at the variety of issues that affect female entrepreneurs and business owners through the lens of the book, as well as our usual sharing of information and resources with one another.
If you receive a book, you will be expected to come to most if not all of the ACL meetups this semester, which will be the 3rd Wednesday of each month (5:30-7pm):
- September 15 (in-person/hybrid in the Women's Center)
- October 13 (virtual)
- November 17 (in-person/hybrid in the Women's Center)
- December 15 (virtual)
We also host an online community on the Kent State Flash Mentor site, which all are welcome to join. This is a place online where members can connect in between meetings: share resources, continue conversations, and find out about other events, as well as find the latest information about our (virtual) meetings.
