Om Ahuja, Ph.D.
Biography
Om Ahuja, M.Sc. (Mathematics), M.A. (Economics) and Ph.D. (Mathematics), is a tenured Full Professor of Mathematical Sciences at the Geauga Campus and Twinsburg Academic Center of the Kent State University (Ohio, USA). He is an internationally reputed research scholar and his research interests cover several areas in complex analysis, functional analysis, mathematics education, and web-based mathematics education. He is a recipient of several international recognitions and funded grants including the National Science Foundation travel grant (USA), a two-time nominee of the US Professor of the Year Award, one-year teachers’ fellowship award to study advanced Pure Mathematics at the University of Mumbai (India) and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (India).
He has taught for about fifty years at many universities including Kent State University (USA), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), University of California at Davis (USA), University of Papua New Guinea (Papua New Guinea), University of Khartoum (Sudan), University of Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), and DAV College Abohar of the Panjab University (India). As a full-time university faculty at these universities, he has taught several courses in mathematics and mathematics education, both at undergraduate and graduate levels. He also supervised and served as an examiner of several graduate and Ph.D. students in mathematics in the last 40 years.

Professor Ahuja has authored or co-authored about 150 publications in math and math education. Most recently, in 2019/2020, he co-authored (with Professor P. K. Jain) the third edition of a graduate-level textbook on Functional Analysis, published by the New Age International (P) Ltd., Publishers (London, New Delhi, Nairobi); and in the same year, he was also an editor of two special volumes in complex analysis and its applications. He has delivered more than 100 invited talks/key-note speeches/contributed papers at many national and international conferences and universities in the USA, Romania, Germany, Turkey, China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Sudan, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, and New Zealand.
During his long academic career, Dr. Ahuja had served as Chair of Department, Associate Dean of Faculty of Science, Chair of Faculty Council, and organized many national and international conferences, workshops, and symposiums in many countries. During the last 35 years, he also chaired numerous international conference sessions, refereed hundreds of journal articles for more than 30 journals, and reviewed several other articles for the American Mathematical Society.
