
Chuck Hatcher
Biography
Chuck Hatcher has been a professional sound designer for theatre since 1986 when he was the Resident Designer for Tacoma Actors Guild, a LORT company in Tacoma, Washington. In 1988 he accepted a position as Resident Sound Designer and Head of Audio with the Cornell University Department of Theatre, Film, and Dance where he remained until 2000. While at Cornell he was also a freelance designer for professional theaters including The Hangar Theatre, Syracuse Stage, and Arena Stage.
After moving to Ohio he served as a member of the Department of Theatre Design and Production and Head of Sound Design Technology, a professional BFA/MFA training program, at the College of Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati. After promotion to Full Professor, he resigned from CCM and has been active as an adjunct faculty at several universities, including Kent State, as well as a freelance designer for professional and academic theaters.
