Devin C.G. Moore Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to an underrepresented/minority student pursuing a degree in journalism (interested specifically in broadcast journalism).
Devin Christian Gregory Moore was a senior broadcast journalism major at Kent State University who died suddenly on December 6, 2017 while playing basketball with friends. Devin hosted a radio show on Black Squirrel Radio and was an entertainment reporter for Student Media’s TV2. He was highly engaged in campus life as a member of Black United Students and Integrated Greek Council. He also served as Basileus of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Psi Gamma Chapter 2015. He was Omega Psi Phi’s 2017 Excellence and Scroll Honor Award Recipient. He was also named the 2017 4th District Undergraduate Omega Man of the Year. Charismatic, genuine and ambitious, Devin’s motto was, “God put us on this earth to live.” He encouraged others to avoid holding back and to strive for success. He enjoyed experiences, including travel, community service and actively participating in movements for change and empowerment. At Kent State, Devin pursued his dream of a career in broadcasting as a basketball commentator or analyst.
