Miracle Walker, Digital Media Production
Internship: Video Intern, Canton City School District/Canton YWCA (Spring 2021)
"We’re living in a digital age, and any way I can create awareness of a cause, that’s where my heart is.”
As an intern with Canton City School District, Miracle Walker was tasked with creating a promotional video for the YWCA of Canton. She was prepared well, thanks to her Digital Media Production courses so far. Specifically, in Digital Video Editing, she learned how to keep media organized, approach clients and save time when preparing for a project — all things she used while working on the promotional video.
She learned throughout this internship and the process, that “storytelling is what I was put on this earth to do."
“Following a career in digital media production allowed me to give voice to the voiceless and bring awareness. We’re living in a digital age, and any way I can create awareness of a cause, that’s where my heart is. So to join the Canton City School District and be put on a project for an organization whose mission is dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women was perfect!”
All students in the School of Media and Journalism are required to complete an internship. Read about more student experiences here.
