OSMA State Convention

2021-22 Convention Date:

April 22 and 23, 2022

Kent State University hosts the annual Ohio Scholastic Media Association (OSMA) State Convention. The event attracts more than 300 high school students and advisers and features dozens of workshop and skill sessions, day-of contests, high school news and yearbook critiques, an awards ceremony/banquet and keynote speaker.

The 2019 speaker was Mary Beth Tinker, plaintiff in the landmark Supreme Court decision that said neither students nor teachers “shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate.”
