M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication - Fall 2018

No concentration

This program can be completed in four school terms by full-time students (16 to 21 months). New students will enter in the fall semester. 


Core:

  • Theory and Societal Role of Mass Media (JMC 60011) - 3 credits
  • Research Methods in Mass Communication (JMC 60007) - 3 credits
  • Mass Communication Law and Ethics (JMC 60012) - 3 credits

Core total: 9 credits 

 

Capstone

  • Project: 3 credits

- OR - 

  • Thesis: 6 credits

Capstone total: 3-6 credits

 

Other Requirements

All students will take these two classes*

  • Principles and Practices of Digital Media (JMC 61001) - 3 credits
  • Reporting, Writing and Editing for Media (JMC 66011) - 3 credits

Other requirements total: 6 credits

  • In JMC or other relevant areas* - 12 - 15 credits
