Biography

Sarah Szweda has been an instructor at Kent State University’s School of Media and Journalism since 2008.

Before teaching at Kent State, Szweda was the public relations director at Trinity High School from 1999 to 2008. Prior to her work in public relations, she was a reporter for Sun News, The News-Herald, and Record Publishing and a news assistant at WKBN TV-27 in Youngstown.

Szweda has been a freelance writer, graphic designer, and public relations specialist who won local, state, and national awards in the areas of education, public relations, photography, graphic design, and writing. She was managing editor at Community Times Publishing and also taught and served as a college newspaper adviser at Cuyahoga Community College.
