To ensure smooth, goal-oriented academic experiences, each CCI undergraduate student is required to complete a 30-minute advising appointment at least once per semester. 

We offer a wide selection of scholarships for students who are currently enrolled in the School of Media and Journalism at Kent State. Scholarship awards are based on financial need, academic performance and professional promise as evidenced by your submitted work samples.

All high school seniors who have been admitted to Kent State's College of Communication and Information (CCI) are invited to apply for CCI scholarships. Scholarships open for applications in October, and the deadline is mid-February.

An internship is a graduation requirement for all School of Media and Journalism students. Explore resources for students, intern supervisors and potential employers.

The Student Resource Lab is in Franklin Hall Room 124 and is open during the semester Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All checkouts are reservation only and reservations must be made 24 hours in advance. Please log in to Cheqroom to make room and equipment reservations. Contact the SRL at studentresourcelab@kent.edu or 330-672-2468 if you have any questions.

The School of Media and Journalism requires that incoming students purchase a laptop computer that can be used in their major classes.
