Brian Kieffer, KSU alum, named Music Educator of the Year in Stark County

Brian Kieffer, an alumnus of Kent State University, has been named Stark County’s 2018 Music Educator of the Year. It was announced on Sat., March 3 during the Canton Symphony’s MasterWorks concert. He was among 10 distinguished music educators named as finalists, including fellow Kent State graduates Richard Kibler and Cynthia Grove.

For over 25 years, Mr. Kieffer has taught at GlenOak High School. During his tenure, the high school choral program has grown to include 9 choirs with around 350 students participating. He earned his Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Kent State while continuing to teach.
