Hiring: Music Recruitment Coordinator
Represent the School of Music to recruit diverse undergraduate students to Kent State University. Plan and implement programs to increase the quantity and quality of new students. Disseminate information regarding the university. Reports to Director, School of Music.
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Act as the primary contact for prospective undergraduate students interested in music, both as majors and non-majors.
Actively track and communicate with prospective undergraduate students.
Organize and coordinate on-campus student visits and meet with visiting students to outline the breadth of music opportunities at KSU.
Coordinate all auditions, both for music majors and for the Marching Band.
Coordinate and execute special School of Music recruitment events (i.e. Open House, Marching Band Day, instrument specific days, All-Star events, etc.).
Travel to high schools to recruit students, particularly underrepresented students, who have shown interest in all kinds of music, whether as a major or a non-major.
Coordinate staffing and execution of on-campus music admissions recruitment events.
Represent the School of Music and KSU at outreach events (college fairs, conferences).
Offer administrative support for the Marching Golden Flashes.
Perform work on various special projects and assignments, including, but not limited to, admission publications, customer relationship management (CRM) software, communications, reporting, functions of application processing, and admission file review.
Represent the university and disseminate information at high schools and college fairs within an assigned territory.
Counsel prospective students and families; assist students through the college selection process.
Give presentations on the university to diverse audiences, including high school students, parents, alumni, guidance counselors, and colleagues.
Perform related duties as assigned.
A successful candidate for this position will have a background in either music, marching band/ensembles, or in college recruitment and student services.
