Job Opening: Part-time Instructor of Trumpet

Kent State University’s Glauser School of Music seeks a Part-Time Instructor of Trumpet with demonstrated commitment to supporting a thriving and diverse music program for a position to begin August 23, 2020.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities may include teaching weekly lessons and studio class for undergraduate and graduate trumpet students, taking an active role in recruitment initiatives, performing on faculty recitals, and evaluating auditions, juries, and degree recitals.

Qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience required. Ability to proactively create an inclusive environment in the trumpet studio. Evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level. Demonstrated artistry through performances in solo, chamber, band, and/or orchestral settings. Experience in a secondary area such as jazz, improvisation, entrepreneurship, or commercial/contemporary music would be an asset.
