Kent State University voice students place at NATS Student Auditions Oct. 19

On Sat., Oct. 19, 17 of our voice students traveled to the University of Toledo to compete in the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Auditions. Six School of Music students placed or received honorable mentions in their category. In addition to placing first in his category, Xuyue Qing (pictured) also received the Richard Miller Award for Fine Singing. Nearly 200 students from across the state of Ohio competed.

  • Advanced Classical TBB Voice – Xuyue Qing (1st place)
  • Advanced Classical TBB Voice – Benjamin Hayes (3rd place)

Students of Lara Troyer

  • Lower College Music Theater – Robert Miller (2nd place)
  • Advanced Classical Treble Voice – Natalie Butchko (3rd place)
  • Fourth/Fifth Year College Treble Voice – Marley Lieberman (Honorable Mention)
