Kent State University Wind Ensemble and Concert Band Present the Music of Celebrations and Legends

First Concert of the 2016-2017 Season

Kent, Ohio – The Kent State University Wind Ensemble and Concert Band begins their 2016-2017 season with a free concert on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. in the University Auditorium at Cartwright Hall. Cartwright Hall is located at 650 Hilltop Drive on the Kent State University Kent campus. Free parking.

The Kent State University Bands presents “Music of Celebrations and Legends.” Featured on the program is a diverse repertoire of original and transcribed music for wind band. Kent State Univeristy faculty members Dr. John Franklin, assistant professor and Director of Athletic Bands, and Jesse Leyva, associate professor and Director of Bands, will lead the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble respectively. Highlighted on the program will be works by Holst, Wagner, Creston, Fillmore, Vaughan Williams, and Grundman.
