Music Education graduates find placements

Throughout the past couple of months, word has begun to trickle in from our music education graduates regarding job placements. While many alumni have stayed in Ohio, several have gone on to take teaching positions in Illinois, South Carolina and even internationally, in Vietnam. Others have decided to pursue graduate work in music performance. We're proud to see where our graduates are going once they leave Kent State and look forward to sharing more as we continue to hear from them! Below is the start of a continuously growing list of recent music education alumni job placements. 

  • Shelby Denton (BMME, '17) - teaching at Preston & Silver Lake Elementary Schools in Cuyahoga Falls
  • Ross Downing (BMME, '17) - teaching at St. Joseph’s School in Cuyahoga Falls
  • Louis Turndick (BMME, '18) - teaching at Jesus Name Community Church in Columbia, South Carolina
  • Chris Kottman (BMME, '17) - teaching English in Saigon, Vietnam
  • Melissa d’Alberti (BMME, '18) - teaching middle and high school band in Norwalk, OH
  • Max Medlock (BMME, '18) - teaching elementary music and band in Rockford, Illinois
  • Graysen Schaney (BMME, '18) - teaching K-8 music at the Summit Academy Community School in Cincinnati
