Seeking Applications for New, Full-time Tenure Track Position in Music Education

Job Title: Faculty Tenure Track-9 Mo

Physical Location: Kent Campus - Kent, OH

Basic Function: Opportunity for a full-time tenure track faculty member to teach Music Education, conduct research and provide service to the School.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Primary responsibilities will include teaching courses in music education in graduate and undergraduate programs, choral ensemble conducting, supervision of student teachers, supervision of undergraduate and graduate research, and other responsibilities as per the interests of the candidate and needs of the School.

We seek candidates with a strong background in choral music and pedagogy and who have experience with or interest in online education.

Preferred areas of research include social justice, intersections of world music and music education, race and anti-racism, or other subjects that would contribute to the broad research interests of our division and school.

Additional duties may include committee service, recruitment activities, and participation in the ongoing work of the Music Education division, School of Music, and the College of the Arts.

Minimum Qualifications: 

An earned doctorate in music education is required; ABD will be considered with completion of degree no later than December 31, 2021. Significant K-12 teaching experience and those with collegiate teaching experience. An emerging or established record of scholarship including publications, conference presentations, and other appropriate activities is required.
