Kent State University undergraduate music majors bassoonist Dacoda Kaczmarek (Music Education), clarinetist Stephen Imler (Music Education) and flutist Nicole Cummings (Music) will participate in the 2020 CBDNA North Central Division Conference Intercollegiate Band. This year’s conference will be held Feb. 20-22 at DePaul University in Chicago. Intercollegiate Band will perform on Sat., Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. in Holtschneider Performance Center, Gannon Concert Hall on DePaul’s campus.

Every year, the members of the Intercollegiate Band are selected by nominations submitted by collegiate band directors. Dr. Wendy K. Matthews, Interim Director of KSU Bands, nominated these three students and all were invited to participate. Each is a member of the Kent State Wind Ensemble, the Glauser School’s premier concert band.

About the organization: The College Band Directors National Association is a grassroots organization that serves a wide variety of constituents, from the conservatory wind ensemble, to the athletic band, to the small college band, and everything in between. We seek to be the best conductors, musicians, and educators that we possibly can be, and pass that baton to the next generation.
