String Audition Clinic

Kent State will host its inaugural All-State Orchestra String Audition Clinic on Saturday April 21. Participants will work with Kent State faculty, which includes members of The Cleveland Orchestra and Miami String Quartet, to refine the All-State/Regional Orchestra audition materials.

Tentative Schedule (updated 3/12/18):

  • 9:30 am-10 am: Registration
  • 10 am-10:20 am: Welcome and Grad Quartet Performance
  • 10:30 am-11:10 am: Clinic 1: Orchestral Excerpt Class
  • 11:10 am-11:20 am: Break
  • 11:20 am-12 pm: Clinic 2: Etude and Scale Class
  • 12:05-12:45 pm: Work with/observe Dr. Jungho Kim
  • 1 pm: All participants are invited to the recital of Carrie Wan, graduate violin
