Fifty cheers for 50 years. Kent State University at Tuscarawas received recognition at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus to honor its upcoming 50th anniversary.
The Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center is lit up at night, welcoming visitors to downtown Kent. The hotel marked its fifth anniversary this past June.

George R. Newkome, Ph.D., and his wife, Mary Jane Saunders, Ph.D., have pledged $1 million to fund a first-ever professorship in materials science in Kent State University’s College of Arts and Sciences.
Kent State University at Trumbull student Sarah Heavner will play the role of a costumed character during her internship at Disney World this fall. Ms. Heavner is a communication studies major and minoring in theatre.
