Mary Burley is the Featured Speaker for the April Women’s Success Series

Mary Burley, director of Human Resources at Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, will be the featured speaker for the Women’s Success Series on April 7 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Kent State University at Tuscarawas. The session also includes a discussion on the TED Talk based on How to Make Stress Your Friend by Kelly McGonigal. Cost to attend is $15 when paid in advance and $20 if paid at the door. The fee includes a continental breakfast. 

During Burley’s impressive 19-year career with Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD), her role grew from creating a human resources function to including responsibilities for overseeing the growing human resources and safety areas, as well as serving as a member of the executive management team. MWCD is a government agency that employs more than 400 people throughout 18 counties, and manages 54,000 acres of public land, including 10 lakes and 14 flood control reservoirs.

Now in its fifth year of programming, the Women’s Success Series features outstanding women who share their diverse expertise and success stories. In doing so, they inspire and encourage the audience to move forward in their own lives and careers. The series is designed for women of all ages and from all walks of life.

The Women’s Success Series is sponsored by Dennison Railroad Depot Museum and Kent State Tuscarawas in collaboration with Carlene Farms, Tuscarawas County Public Library System and the Economic Development and Finance Alliance of Tuscarawas County. Other contributing organizations include: Berner Trucking, Inc.; Claymont Health and Rehabilitation; Dominion East Ohio; First Federal Community Bank; First National Bank of Dennison; House of Stones; Lauren Manufacturing; Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District; Trinity Hospital Twin City; Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce; Union Hospital; and What’s Cooking Café.
