For the 2020 Giving Tuesday season, the College of Education, Health and Human Services featured three incredibly impactful programs/funds: the EHHS Bridges Program, the Kent State Child Development Center and the Dr. Mark Kretovics HEASP Travel Fund.

EHHS Bridges Program
A generous donor pledged $2,500 to match all gifts to this necessary program.
The College of Education, Health and Human Services' Bridges Program is built to ensure that underrepresented and first-generation students have the tools and support they need to successfully begin their college careers both academically and socially. The program gives these students early access to the university, fosters connections with key campus offices, and provides opportunities to earn up to 6 credit hours of college credits before their first fall semester. Multi-degreed Kent State alumna, Rosemary Kilkenny, has generously pledged to match up to $2,500 in gifts to support this necessary program.

Kent State Child Development Center
A generous donor pledged $2,500 to match all gifts to the Kent State Child Development Center.
The CDC serves as a place for our KSU students to complete their education through student teaching as well as gives our faculty the ability to have a research facility. And just as importantly, the CDC is a place for KSU students to access childcare to ensure they are able to attend university because quality, affordable childcare is available to them. The center provides families a welcoming and inclusive place for childcare, which is why our matching donor, Jen Mapes, has enthusiastically pledged to match all gifts up to $2,500.

Dr. Mark Kretovics HEASP Travel Fund
A generous donor pledged $25,000 to match all gifts to the Dr. Mark Kretovics HEASP Travel Fund.
This fund supports our graduate students' travel - especially as they are finishing their academic careers, pursuing research and participating in networking opportunities. Dr. Mark Kretovics is one of the original creators of this fund, a loyal donor and advocate for students experiential learning, which is why our match donors, Dave and Brandi (Hephner) LaBanc, thought renaming this fund would be a perfect way to honor his dedication and legacy.
