Thank you for your patience as we updated the Fall 2020 Schedule of Classes to ensure our instructional spaces and enrollment capacities are safe to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. As is true for any semester, there may continue to be modifications to the course schedule prior to the start of the semester.
To view your Fall 2020 courses, which may reflect changes in method of instruction or meeting times, log into your FlashLine account and go to the Student > Resources > Courses and Registration and choose "View or Print Course Schedule and Purchase Textbooks. Please continue to check your schedule on a regular basis.
Remote learning will be a noticeable component of your schedule due to decreases in classroom capacities. The term "remote course" reflects a new scheduling category. A remote course is one that was originally scheduled to be taught in an in-person format but is now being taught remotely. More information can be found on the Coronavirus Student FAQ website. The number of in-person classes versus remote classes is dependent on how we are able to best use our campus classrooms and learning spaces in accordance with physical distancing guidelines set forth by the state while prioritizing those courses that require in-person learning. We have maximized use of all our spaces so that we could make as many in-person classes safely available as possible.
Regardless of the method of instruction, your classes will be relevant, challenging and engaging. Our faculty who will be teaching remotely are participating in summer workshops through our Center for Teaching and Learning and Office of Continuing and Distance Education so they can further enhance their courses and prepare the highest-quality remote learning experiences for you. In addition, we are upgrading our technology to support our faculty as they engage with students in real and virtual classroom experiences. New technology in each classroom will allow students who are immunocompromised or have underlying health conditions to participate remotely in in-person classes. If this applies to you, complete the pandemic adjustment request form. You will be contacted by a Kent State staff member who will help make arrangements for you to participate remotely.
While some learning will be in the remote format, we know your educational experience will be enhanced by being on campus and having the opportunity to meet and interact - in a safe manner - with fellow students and professors. Even if many or all your classes are remote, there will be opportunity to safely engage in a meaningful on-campus experience. Additionally, the Seasoned Café will be open with reduced seating and modified offerings for grab-and-go or sit-down dining.

It is critical that you finalize and verify your registration by the published deadlines for your course sections.
