Join us for a special drive-thru Kent Creativity Festival! On Saturday, September 26, 2020, you will be able to participate in a hands-on art project – all from the safety of your own vehicle!
This socially distanced event will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Rockwell Hall (Corner of Main Street and Lincoln Street) on the Kent Campus of Kent State University. Simply arrive during the 2 hour window and follow the signs.
The Art Project: Building a Community Tower
Are you ready to be creative? Together we're going to build a Community Tower! Originally created by Kent State Art Education major Megan Carney, a Community Tower is a way to show what community means through art.
When you arrive at the 2020 Kent Creativity Festival, you will be given instructions and materials to decorate a foam panel with what community means to you. Each panel will then be used to construct a tower in the Rockwell Hall parking lot. This event is FREE and open to all. Masks are required.
How to Participate
- Enter the Rockwell Hall parking lot, located at the corner of Main St. and Lincoln St. in Kent, OH. All members of your party must wear a mask!
- Follow the signs and volunteers to a designated parking spot.
- A volunteer will bring your vehicle enough supplies for all participants and provide instructions.
- Decorate your foam panels with "what community means to you."
- When finished, turn on your headlights.
- Watch the "Community Tower" grow!
