Twin Community Strives to Educate and Engage Around Social Justice

Over the past several months the nation and world has seen injustices too many to name. Many times we are left speechless, angry, frustrated, or just sad. We can choose to see these injustices and ignore them, or we can find ways to learn more, to educate others, and to do our part to make the situation better in some small way. This is exactly what Charlotte Lee, one of our Social Justice Advocates for the Twin Community has done. This semester, Charlotte is publishing a weekly newsletter she sends to her residents highlighting ways they can learn, educate, and do their part for social justice. Topics of the newsletter have included, Voting Rights and Resources, Self-Care tips, information about the Black Lives Matter movement, resources for Community Healing, a campus safe space for BIPOC students, and a new reading group called ARCC: Anti-racism and Criticism Collective. It can be easy to become overwhelmed with the world around us, but Charlotte is showing her fellow students that there are ways to become connected, engaged, and to act to fight the injustices we see daily.
