Eve McPherson will perform in a benefit concert this Sunday

Warren, OH - Kent State University at Trumbull’s Eve McPherson, associate professor of Music, is helping to organize and perform in Music for Children’s free outdoor porch concert this coming Sunday to benefit Bessie's Angels in support of the Black Lives Matter Movement. 

Weather-permitting, members of the Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Institute of Music faculty and students, and other accomplished local musicians will perform on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. The socially distant event will take place at 2824 Scarborough Road in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. It will also be live-streamed at https://www.facebook.com/musicforourchildren

.“I am thrilled to take part in this event,” said McPherson.  “Music is a great way to bring people together and to support the community.” 

Attendees are asked to wear a mask and maintain a distance of six feet from other guests.  They should also email the Director of Music for Our Children Ralitsa Georgieva-Smith at rakoge@hotmail.com or RSVP via the Music for Our Children Facebook page. 

While the event is free, donations are encouraged. Donations can be made directly to Bessie's Angels at bessiesangels.org.  (The donation portal is found on the top left side of the web page).  A contactless container for cash donations will also be available at the event. 

Bessie's Angels is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing, educating, empowering, and providing low-income housing to young women who have aged out of foster care.
