ACCOUNTING

The accounting program prepares students for careers as professional accountants by providing instruction in financial accounting, cost or managerial accounting, auditing, tax and accounting systems. The accounting curriculum provides a foundation in both theory and practice, encompassing the body of concepts, conventions, principles and theories essential to the professional competency expected of accounting graduates. A well-established internship program, with a solid and well-respected reputation, is available to qualified accounting students.

DATA ANALYTICS - MINOR

The Data Analytics minor trains students to use data to inform decision-making and create solutions. Students learn to acquire and collect raw data in various formats, concert raw data in various formats, convert raw data to usable formats and then understand how to appropriately analyze the data to draw accurate and useful conclusions. Graduates of the program will be able to use their skills across a wide-range of industries as well as in the non-profit and government sectors.

This major is housed in the College of Business, but it is an excellent interdisciplinary minor for students, regardless of what college their major is in.

ECONOMICS

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Economics equips students with a variety of skills sought by employers, including conceptualizing and solving problems; locating, organizing and using relevant information; and analytical ability. Students take a series of electives that deal with vital current topics relevant to many careers in which these theories and skills are applied, such as the U.S. financial and banking system; the economic relations between the United States and foreign countries; government spending and taxation policies; and the U.S. health system and policy options.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Entrepreneurship provides students with the academic background and experiential opportunities needed to view business opportunities from an entrepreneurial perspective. The program helps students recognize market and business opportunities and learn when to seize them or take action, all while operating within the context of limited resources and creating value for the customer. The program contains numerous opportunities to experience entrepreneurship firsthand.

MANAGERIAL MARKETING

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Managerial Marketing prepares students to be marketing practitioners by helping them to fully develop the analytical, decision-making and communications (written and oral) skills used and valued by individuals working in this field. Faculty engage each student in active learning through hands-on assignments, case studies, projects with real businesses, and dynamic interactions with the faculty member and other students in the classroom.

MARKETING

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing provides a general approach that can be applied in a wide range of areas of business (e.g., for profit, nonprofit, service and manufacturing).  The program addresses the breadth within the marketing field through courses (e.g., consumer behavior, marketing research, international marketing, personal selling, advertising and promotion management) that provide the student with an appreciation of all central topic areas in the field.
